How to Calculate Exponents

The exponent of a number is found by multiplying that number by itself the number of the exponent times.
$\text{number}^{2}=\text{number} \times \text{number}$
$\text{number}^{5}=\text{number} \times \text{number} \times \text{number} \times \text{number}$
$\text{number}^{10}=\text{number} \times \text{number} \times \text{number} \times \text{number} \times \text{number} \times \text{number} \times \text{number} \times \text{number} \times \text{number}$

Example

$3^{2} = 3 \times 3 = 9$
$9^{5} = 9 \times 9 \times 9 \times 9 \times 9 = 59,049$
$5^{10} = 5 \times 5 \times 5 \times 5 \times 5 \times 5 \times 5 \times 5 \times 5 \times 5 = 9,765,625$
