Definition – What is Stolen Base Percentage?
SB% is a baseball percentage used to show a runner’s percentage of successful stolen base attempts.
Formula – How to calculate SB%
SB% = Stolen Bases ÷ (Stolen Bases + Caught Stealing)
If a runner 28 stolen bases and have been caught stealing 10 times, then:
SB% = 28 ÷ (28 + 10)
SB% = 28 ÷ 38
SB% = 0.73684
This runner’s stolen base percentage is 0.73684, or 73.684%.
